Infineon Introduces Compact 120 V Dual-Channel Gate Driver for High-Density AI Server Power Systems

Infineon Technologies AG has introduced the EiceDRIVER™ 2EDL6014AC-G2D, a 120 V junction-isolated dual-channel gate driver with floating outputs, specifically designed for high-density silicon power architectures used in artificial intelligence (AI) data centers. Housed in a compact 2.2 mm x 2.2 mm WQFN-12 package, the new device addresses the growing need for power conversion solutions that can support higher server rack densities without compromising system reliability or thermal performance.
The 2EDL6014AC-G2D supports dual high-side, dual low-side, and half-bridge configurations, making it a flexible driver platform for next-generation AI server power architectures. Its versatility is particularly relevant to switching-capacitor and multi-level topologies, which are becoming increasingly important as data center power systems continue to evolve toward higher efficiency and greater power density.
High-Performance Driving in a Compact Package
The device integrates two fully independent floating-output gate drivers, with each channel capable of driving a high-side MOSFET operating at voltages of up to 120 V. With a 4 A source current and 6 A sink current**, the driver delivers strong switching performance even under demanding load conditions.
Independent INA and INB input pins allow the two channels to be controlled separately. Built-in deglitch filtering further improves noise immunity, an important feature for densely populated PCB designs where electromagnetic interference and signal integrity can become significant challenges.
The input stage supports both 3.3 V and 5 V logic levels, allowing direct interfacing with microcontroller ground domains and helping maintain reliable signal transmission. Each floating output supply also incorporates undervoltage lockout (UVLO) protection. When the supply voltage falls below the required level, the corresponding output is forced low, helping ensure safe and controlled system startup.
Thermal management is another key consideration in high-utilization AI infrastructure. The package's exposed pad provides a low-thermal-impedance path, improving heat dissipation during continuous high-power operation. This is particularly valuable for AI training and inference systems that can operate at high utilization for extended periods.
Designed for Complete AI Power Architectures
The 2EDL6014AC-G2D is designed to integrate smoothly with Infineon's broader AI server power portfolio, which covers the complete power chain from the grid to the processor core.
The portfolio includes technologies for solid-state transformers and solid-state circuit breakers, power supplies and battery backup systems, intermediate bus converters, and secondary DC-DC power conversion stages. This broad portfolio allows designers to address multiple stages of increasingly complex AI data center power architectures.
By combining the complementary capabilities of silicon, silicon carbide (SiC), and gallium nitride (GaN) technologies, Infineon provides customers with a comprehensive path toward building end-to-end power systems. Consistent design resources and scalable, high-quality components further simplify development and enable engineers to create power architectures tailored to the demanding requirements of next-generation AI servers.
As AI workloads continue to increase power consumption and drive higher server density, compact and efficient power-management components will become increasingly important. With its high-voltage capability, independent dual-channel architecture, strong gate-driving performance, integrated protection features, and compact footprint, the EiceDRIVER™ 2EDL6014AC-G2D provides a flexible solution for engineers developing the next generation of high-density AI data center power systems.
